The Planning Department handles daily administration of the Zoning and Development Code relating to all land use development such as subdivisions, residential, commercial and industrial buildings, fence permits, sign permits and new businesses,
as well as long range planning activities. Planning staff work with citizens and businesses on land use issues in an attempt to promote area growth while at the same time preserving and enhancing the beauty and natural resources of our community.
The Planning Department is also responsible for issuance of
Business Licenses. All businesses located within the City
are required to obtain a business license, renewable in January
of every year.

Building Inspection
The Building Inspection Department provides for abatement or repair of dilapidated or defective buildings which endanger life, health, property or public safety and is a pro-active approach to enforce the Housing Code and Abatement of Dangerous Building Codes.
